Open to high school students looking to build a portfolio for college admission.
Whether you have been working on your portfolio all year long or you haven't exactly started your journey yet, this camp is for you. You will create and edit artwork to add to your portfolio while learning tips and tricks to make your portfolio stand out from the crowd. You will hone your editing eye and clarify your artist's statement while working with peers to critique, collaborate, and refine goals. You will have access to a number of art media to use in your work. A list of additional supplies will be provided prior to the start of camp.
Included are 8 hours of optional open studio time at your disposal during the week of camp. They are from Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Use these hours to work on art pieces that you plan to add to your portfolio.
You will be instructed by Amy Stamp, an art educator with experience teaching AP Art Portfolio and a multitude of art classes at a college preparatory school. She has also acted as a mentor for high school students applying to art school.
