From trash to craft-spiration!

One person’s trash is another person’s craft-spiration!

This weekend I had my very first tag sale. A neighbor invited the entire street to hold tag sales on the same day. This street-wide tag sale was an amazing idea and a phenomenal success!  Over 15 homes participated in the event and literally hundreds of treasure hunters strolled the street to peruse the many items available for purchase.  It was a great community building experience and definitely fit into the DIT (Do It Together) concept that fills me with so much excitement and is a main component of craftivate's vision.

This tag sale provided me with the opportunity to do some much needed purging and organizing within my home, make a little extra cash and spend an entire day meeting and chatting with a bunch of interesting people.  An added bonus is that much of what was left over was donated to upcoming church tag sales and nonprofit organizations.  A commonality that I found among many of the treasure hunters was that they were looking for items to use in craft projects.

Tag sales and flea markets are such wonderful venues to discover unique finds and treasures.  As the saying goes, "one person’s trash is another person’s treasure."  Or in this case, "One person’s trash is another person’s craft-spiration!"  Simple objects can be repurposed or upcycled into whimsical creations that please the eye, feed the soul, and don't empty your pockets.  So take a trip to a tag sale or flea market near you to find inspiration for your next craftivation!  You might just be surprised by what you find.
