If only I could... but one day I will!

Jenn Chapin, craftivate

I'll admit, I have a thing for beautiful embroidery hoop art. Yes. It's true. I actually go "ooohhhhh" and "ahhhhhhh" at times. Mostly, I find myself drawn to sayings with flowers. I do love flowers. Wildflowers and dahlias in particular.

I have attempted embroidering and failed. I failed miserably. Who brought the "Debbie Downer", I know, sorry. That was over 4 years ago. I think I must get back up on the saddle and try it again. Like my daughter likes to recite when riding her balance bike, "just keep swimming, swimming, swimming...". For those who have not seen Finding Nemo, that is a quote from the movie. It basically means, don't give up, keep trying. No matter how old, we must be reminded of this in life, too.

So, this I vow to myself, my sweet daughter and to YOU, fellow craftivators, I will try embroidery again. Heck, maybe even start with a kit first. Any maybe, just maybe, I will capture this lovely learning process of mine via photos... share them with you along the way.

Here are a few of the embroidery hoop artists that I really enjoy. I hope you do as well.

First is the Catshy shop via Etsy. She made for me three very special custom pieces for my daughters room when she was born. Each has a line from songs significant to us and/or our family. Here is some of her current work (checkout the second one - its an embroidered and felt Instagram frame - love this!:

Next I bring to you, BreezebotPunch. I like this Etsy shop because all of their handmade hoops are simple and eye-catching. Also, they offer star constellations AND mini hoop art necklace pennants. Yup, you heard that right!

Last, but not least, Kimart. I first came across this shop via our craftivate Instagram feed (if you don't follow us on Instagram, please do). Kimart is spot on with everything I love. She used lovely fabric as her backdrop, she knows damn well how to do some kick@$$ flowers and she is quite witty in some of her sayings. Cute and fab all around. Check it out!

Until next time, craftivators.
